MY TURN TO HELP

January 24th, 2012Posted by admin

I was once an alcoholic and it was the lowest moment of my life. It started with peer pressure. My so-called friends would force me to drink alcohol every after class because according to them, we need to relax and unwind. True, being drunk made me forget my worries but I did not realize I was being dependent to it already. It came to a point that my day won’t start without having a glass of any alcohol; beer, wine, vodka, rum, whiskey… name it. Worse, I was stealing money from my parents and I was always starting a fight with my siblings.

Thanks to my family and their unconditional love, they did not give up on me. They looked for a Florida alcohol rehab that would help me give up my addiction. The process was so hard. I once found myself shaking, screaming and crying one night because my whole system badly wants an alcohol. Good thing that the alcohol rehab that my parents chose was like a home away from home. Their staff were composed of great and loving people. Their facilities, like beach front pavilions and yoga classes, made me find peace and eventually find myself. The whole process made me realize that I am whole and that all I have to be dependent to is God.

What I went through made me a better person. Part of that experience made me start helping people with addiction problems. I finished a medical course and decided to be a councilor at the rehab where I came from. My parents were so proud of me. I also founded a charity in which people with addiction problem but doesn’t have money can go there and get the needed treatment. Definitely, I have achieved more than I dreamed of when I was still young.

A REHAB HELPS!

When we hear the words drug rehab, it used to bring out a negative reaction. Why not, it only means that there is a drug dependent in the family who needs to be treated. It equates to frustration, problem, stress and worry in the family. I used to think like that. It all changed when I had the chance to work as a manager in a Florida drug rehab. Opposite to what I used to think, a drug rehab is not a place where you throw hopeless addicts. It is actually where you give people with addictive habits a chance not only to give up the habit but more importantly to find themselves and become a better person. We have to understand that they become drug dependent not because they just want to but because something is lacking in them. It could be security, attention and love from the people around them. Or maybe their lack of control and confidence in themselves to just say no.

The first time I entered a drug rehab, I was surprised. I was expecting a prison-like place where you see are just cell-like rooms for each patient. What I saw was a place you can call home or a home away from home. Very accommodating, cozy and relaxing. But what I like best is the amenities that they offer; gym, beach-front meditation, private patios, restaurants and so much more.

Of course the most important aspect of a drug rehab are the programs that they offer. Each patient is given a personalized drug treatment plan to maximize their recovery potential. It is not an easy process and would definitely need a lot of help from specialists, experts, councilors and loved-ones.

When we hear of rehabs, it should bring-out a positive reaction because the people running this kind of institution has no other goal but to help people not only with addictive habits but also trauma and self-management.

You the retailer acts as a middleman between the manufacturer and the customer. Alcohol and drug abuse are fairly common in young adults. This is the age that we experiment with our limitations. These are the times we push everything and anything to its limits. And some young adults break off from that stage but some get left behind and end up in alcohol and substance abuse. The time for experimenting has gone by but still these young adults are stuck in this stage of life. I feel pity for those youngsters that may have had a bright future waiting for them but wasted their time and effort on this hazardous endeavor.

But there is always a rainbow after the rain. Although these people were enticed to alcohol and substance abuse there are drug and alcohol treatment programs that can help them go over this stage and do better after given a second chance. Especially here in the Bronx there are cases like these by the thousands. But there are alcohol and drug rehab New Jersey where you can enroll yourself or your loved one for a second chance in life. But just like any other abuse withdrawal from these particular abuses are harsh. Nervousness, or being jumpy, depression, anxiety, mood swings and easy excitation, anger, irritability, nightmares, difficulty focusing and concentration, fatigue and tiredness are the minor symptoms these abusers go through when enrolled in a rehabilitation center. There are special centers that deal with their patients one is to one for better recovery ratios. This one on one treatment are also recommended for severe symptoms from abuse like nausea, vomiting, abnormal movements, tremors all over the body, insomnia, rapid pulse, loss of appetite, hallucinations, and black outs. Each case is different and needs to be diagnosed individually for better results and for a better recovery ratio.

Enrolling yourself or your loved ones in these facilities can provide you or them a better chance of regaining composure and go and be a drug/ alcohol free citizen and make your future brighter than it ever will be.
